Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Has the Minister read the 1 May 2024 Select Committee submission of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists on the Companies (Address Information) Amendment Bill, which notes "a significant proportion of the 1800 clinical psychologists registered in New Zealand are company directors" and "welcomes the proposed changes to the Companies Act, which our members consider to be extremely timely"?

Hon Andrew Bayly: I am aware of the safety and privacy concerns raised by many directors, including those raised by submitters on the Companies (Address Information) Amendment Bill. This is why I am seeking to introduce legislation to provide a comprehensive solution to this issue of directors’ and shareholders' home addresses on the Companies Register whereby their home addresses can be replaced with an address for service.
