50393 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Disability Issues: Does the Minister agree with the recommendation to freeze funding levels for residential facility-based care for this year, if so, what impacts, if any, will this have on disabled people that receive that funding?

Hon Louise Upston: Cabinet agreed that the Independent Review recommendation to maintain current levels of funding for residential facility-based care for FY 2024/25, pending commissioning and completion of a detailed and urgent review of the contract and pricing models, be adopted. I do not expect there to be any impact from this on disabled people who are currently receiving residential facility-based care, as the rates providers are currently receiving for their care will continue.
