50381 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Regional Development: Where has the $200 million from the Government to support climate resilience projects been allocated?
Hon Shane Jones: In establishing the Regional Infrastructure Fund (RIF), $200 million was made available for flood resilience projects to support and enhance the ability of regions to withstand and adapt to stresses occurring as a result of the increasing incidence of severe weather events. Of this, $101.1 million has been approved to support 42 projects which have already been identified as construction ready. More information on these projects can be found in my announcement of 12 August 2024: www.beehive.govt.nz/release/funding-regional-flood-resilience-confirmed.
