Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Statistics: How many staff, if any, were employed in the Minister's departments, if any, on 1 July 2024 that worked on greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts, categorised by whether they worked on organisational/corporate emissions reduction or nationwide emissions reduction or both?

Hon Andrew Bayly: I am advised that on 1 July 2024 Stats NZ had no staff dedicated to working on greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts. Emissions reduction has been added to the responsibilities of functional areas, for example, travel emissions reduction has been incorporated into Stats NZ’s travel policy and the Workplace Environments branch, which manages Stats NZ’s travel systems, and is responsible for implementing travel options that reduce emissions.
