50275 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many staff, if any, were employed in the Minister's departments, if any, on 1 July 2023 that worked on greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts, categorised by whether they worked on organisational/corporate emissions reduction or nationwide emissions reduction or both?

Hon Louise Upston: As of 1 July 2023 MSD had four staff employed to work directly on the organisational emission reduction programme (Carbon Neutral Government Programme). MSD also had five staff employed on a time-limited basis in MSD’s Climate Change Policy team. MSD’s Climate Change Policy team was established to develop an Equitable Transition Strategy (co-led with MBIE), which was an action under the first Emissions Reduction Plan. This is also my response for written parliamentary questions 50281, 50032, 50039 and 50356.
