50225 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Transport: How many people have been employed directly or indirectly on SH2 Melling Interchange, Wellington, as at 17 October 2025?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) currently has approximately 6.1 FTE staff working on this project. It is important to note that staff work across multiple projects at any one time. The FTE numbers do not include contractors or consultants. In September 2025, the Alliance had approximately 160 FTE working on the project. It is not possible to accurately quantify the number of people who have worked on this project since its inception circa 2015 as part of the RiverLink, a combined programme of work between NZTA, Hutt City Council, Greater Wellington Regional Council, and mana whenua Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Taranaki Whānui ki te Upoko o te Ika.
