Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Does he stand by the information he provided to the House on 9 September 2025 that Kāinga Ora would deliver around 500 net new social houses in 2025/26 and if so, how does he reconcile that information with his reply to Question 43648 (2025) which shows he is forecasting a net decrease of 177 Kāinga Ora social homes this financial year?

Hon Chris Bishop: The August 2024 Letter of Expectations required Kāinga Ora to deliver 420 net homes in FY 2025/26. As the Member has been advised in WPQ 45762, regional delivery variances reflect adjustments following the over-delivery of 334 Kāinga Ora homes in FY2024/25.
