50152 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: When, if at all, did he first request information, data, or an estimate from officials on the number of pregnant women who are homeless or have been declined emergency housing, and what response did he receive?
Hon Tama Potaka: My office requested data from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) on the number of pregnant women who have been declined emergency housing on Tuesday 14th October, as part of Oral Parliamentary Question preparation. I have been advised that MSD do not record the pregnancy status of applicants for emergency housing. Therefore, I am advised that it is not possible to say how many pregnant women, if any, may have been declined emergency housing.
I, or my office, have not requested data on pregnant women who are homeless.
