50137 (2025). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: What was the total amount of fines actually recovered by the trial of bailiffs using hand held scanners to locate the cars of people with unpaid fines?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that between 9 July 2025 and 16 October 2025, $230,477.61 of fines and reparation was collected by Court Bailiffs following a positive match on an Automatic Number Plate Recognition handheld device. However, the amount of fines and reparation paid via time payment arrangements following a positive match on an Automatic Number Plate Recognition handheld device is not captured above, as the Ministry of Justice does not currently have available reporting.
