50117 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for ACC: Does ACC collect any data linking sedative medications with falls or other injuries in patients with dementia; if so, how prevalent are these injuries?

Hon Scott Simpson: I am advised that ACC does not collect information about whether a client was receiving sedative medication or whether a client has dementia when a claim for a fall-related injury is lodged. ACC would only be able to identify these by manually reviewing files for all fall-related injury claims.
