Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Defence: How many staff, if any, were employed in the Minister's departments, if any, on 1 July 2023 that worked on climate change adaptation, categorised by work on corporate/organisational climate adaptation or national climate change adaptation or both?

Hon Judith Collins: On the 1 July 2023, the New Zealand Defence Force had an estimated 2.6 FTE (1.35 FTE employees and 1.25 FTE contractors) working on organisational climate adaptation. Of these, an estimated 1.45 FTE worked on an action included in the National Adaptation Plan. On 1 July 2023, the Ministry of Defence had no staff members working on climate adaptation.
