50002 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Immigration: Does the Minister agree with the recommendation from the Amnesty International Report on climate displacement 'Navigating Injustice' that New Zealand should 'Establish rights-based visas targeting people impacted by climate change and disasters, prioritizing admission for those who are unable to meet the Pacific Access Category and Samoan Quota requirements' and if so why and if not why not?
Hon Erica Stanford: The report was only released recently and I have not received any advice on it. New Zealand's response to climate change challenges facing our Pacific neighbours is led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
