50000 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Immigration: Does the Minister agree with the recommendation from the Amnesty International Report on climate displacement 'Navigating Injustice' that New Zealand should 'Review domestic migration laws and policies to ensure that they align with applicable international human rights law, are non-discriminatory and free from exploitation.' and if so why and if not why not?.
Hon Erica Stanford: The report was only released recently and I have not received any advice on it. Immigration settings, by their very nature, are often discriminatory as all countries exercise authority over their own borders as a matter of public interest.
