49989 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills: How many staff, if any, were employed in the Minister's departments, if any, on 1 July 2023 that worked on greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts, categorised by whether they worked on organisational/corporate emissions reduction or nationwide emissions reduction or both?
Hon Penny Simmonds: I refer the Member to the Minister of Education’s response to written parliamentary question 50088 (2024) for the Ministry of Education. No staff were employed at the Tertiary Education Commission on 1 July 2023 that worked on greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts. Please note, I am advised that approximately 0.06 full-time equivalent staff hours are spent annually measuring and reporting on our emissions in accordance with the Carbon Neutral Government Programme at the Tertiary Education Commission and Education New Zealand does not have a specific staffing resource dedicated solely to greenhouse gas emissions reduction efforts and climate change adaptation.
