49927 (2024). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Associate Minister of Health: Is the review of Aged care funding and service models still ongoing, and if so, what stage is it at?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that Phase 2 of the Aged Care Funding and Service Models review is almost completed. As part of this, a summary report of the high-level themes from engagement in May and June will be shared on the Health New Zealand website. A business case is being developed which will provide options for change across aged care services. It is anticipated this will be completed by the end of September.
I am further advised that the engagement in May and June involved eight regional workshops, online webinars, a public survey, and public meetings. Over 10,000 pieces of feedback were received from 2,000 people and organisations (including 861 survey responses), including residents of aged care facilities and their whanau, aged care services, aged care health professionals, older people who use aged care services, and organisations that represent them.
