Hon Judith Collins: Government’s expectations for regulatory stewardship by government agencies clearly set out responsibilities for regulatory stewards including responsibilities for monitoring, review and reporting on regulatory systems. In addition, the Regulatory Impact Statement accompanying the Bill has detailed information on how the government proposes to monitor and evaluate the new gene technology regime including the specific data and qualitative information required as well as timing of first review.
