49893 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many beneficiaries, if any, live in deprived communities?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) they are unable to report on where clients live in relation to the deprivation index. The most granular level of detail that is reportable is by Territorial Authority. As such, I refer the member to the Ministry’s Benefit Fact Sheets which provide benefit statistics broken down by Territorial Authority.
