49874 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What reports, briefings, emails, memos, aides-memoire, notes or written advice, if any, has the Minister and/or her Office received and/or sent regarding lifting the "entry requirements for teacher training, so those wanting to become a teacher will need at least 14 credits at NCEA Level 2 maths"; listed by agency, title and date received/sent?
Hon Erica Stanford: I have received the following briefings from the Teaching Council regarding the entry requirements for teacher training:
• 13 June 2024 – Briefing: Teacher preparation
• 24 July 2024 – Briefing: Progressing Priorities – Draft for discussion
• 1 August 2024 – Briefing: Maths Entry and 2025 ITE Curriculum Requirements
This answer does not cover members of my office who receive a large amount of material every week. Asking them to collate that material would require substantial collation and research and prevent them from undertaking their substantive roles.
