49868 (2024). Hon Willie Jackson to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many rangatahi are currently enrolled or participating in the Whakawatea te ara Poutama programme and what is the forecast for enrolment over the next 12 months?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that as at 30 June 2024, 821 participants had enrolled since the programme began in 2022. Reports from providers indicate that there are currently 666 participants enrolled and current active programmes are contracted to support an additional 589 enrolments by June 2025 (the end of the current contacted period), bringing the number of forecast enrolments to 1410. These numbers may vary if contracts change or reports from providers are revised.
