49817 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Immigration: Does the Minister agree with the recommendation from the Amnesty International Report on climate displacement 'Navigating Injustice' that New Zealand should 'Ensure the effective enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights – including the right to an adequate standard of living – for all people with irregular migration status in Aotearoa New Zealand.' and if so why and if not why not?.

Hon Erica Stanford: No. People who are unlawfully in New Zealand should contact Immigration New Zealand and look at options for regularising their status.
