49786 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with New Zealand Herald's Isaac Davidson that the South Auckland region’s 24-hour crisis response team is short of four full-time doctors and three nurses, and is struggling to recruit people because of strict limits on new hires; if so, what, if anything, will he do to address this?
Hon Matt Doocey: I am aware of challenges in recruiting for certain roles within the mental health and addiction workfroce. I am further advised that a Mental Health and Addiction Workforce Plan will be published by 30 September 2024, as part of the Governments Quarter 3 Action Plan.
