49781 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with the findings of the Sixteenth Annual Report of the Perinatal and
Maternal Mortality Review Committee (June 2024) that over the 2006–2021 period, New Zealand European women and birthing people were
approximately 67% less likely to die by suicide than wāhine Māori; if so, what, if anything, will he do to address this?
Hon Matt Doocey: I have noted the findings of the Sixteenth Annual Report of the Perinatal and Maternal Mortality Review Committee. These findings will be considered in the development of the next suicide prevention action plan for the 2025–2029 period.
