49777 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: Is his view that a 46% increase in aggravated robberies during January to May 2024 when compared to the same period last year is restoring law and order?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I refer the Member to Police's publicly released Victimisations (demographics) data, which shows under Table 1 > ANZSOC Group "Aggravated Robbery", a decrease of 10 per cent (from 1,412 to 1,271) in that ANZSOC Group between 31 December 2022-31 May 2023 and 31 December 2023-31 May 2024. https://www.police.govt.nz/about-us/publications-statistics/data-and-statistics/policedatanz/victimisations-demographics
