49607 (2024). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister for Child Poverty Reduction: Why is there a difference between the child poverty reduction BHC50 targets laid out in the Cabinet Paper, and those which were gazetted?

Hon Louise Upston: The Government wanted to set ambitious intermediate targets while still having a reasonable chance to achieve them, given we are starting from behind what was anticipated when the targets were first established in 2018 due to child poverty worsening on all three target measures in the 2022/23 year. The gazetted targets reflected this consideration.
