Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Vocational Education: What is the proposed remuneration, if any, broken down by board and title, for crown appointees in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, for the 2025-26 financial year?

Hon Penny Simmonds: As Minister for Vocational Education, I am responsible for making appointments to Te Pūkenga’s governing council, and the Ringa Hora and Muka Tangata Workforce Development Councils. The fees paid to these councils are set in accordance with the Cabinet Fees Framework and are published in the organisations’ annual reports. Subject to the passing of the Education and Training (Vocational Education and Training System) Amendment Bill, I will also be required to make appointments to the governing councils of any new polytechnics that are established, as well as the eight Industry Skills Boards. Under Schedule 11, clause 17(1) of the Education and Training Act 2020, the governing councils of the polytechnics will be responsible for determining their fees up to a maximum level I set, in accordance with the Fees Framework, as the Minister for Vocational Education. I will also set the fees for the Industry Skills Boards in accordance with the Fees Framework.
