49266 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: How many contractors, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 October 2024?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was a departmental agency hosted by DPMC, until it transitioned to the Department of Internal Affairs effective on 25 September 2025.
I am advised that for the 2024/25 financial year and period 1 July 2024 to 31 March 2025, information relating to the number of contractors including those previously employed by DPMC is set out in Questions 49 and 52 and Appendix 2 in the 2025/26 Examination of the Estimates for Vote Prime Minister and Cabinet, which is available on the following website:
