49174 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Housing: How many contractors, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 April 2025?

Hon Chris Bishop: The number of contractors engaged by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is published annually as part of the Estimates Examination for Vote Housing and Urban Development, and the Annual Review of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. I refer the Member to the publicly available information, such as the 2025/26 Estimates Examination for Vote Housing and Urban Development at: www3.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/submissions-and-advice/document/54SCSSC_EVI_0110ef26-127b-4832-cdca-08dd9cbad1c0_SSC20917/minister-of-housing-responses-to-supplementary-written Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that, as of 1 April 2025, there were 38 contractors employed.
