Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: Has Treasury or MBIE modelled, if at all, the long-term health costs of reduced sick leave (including presenteeism and workplace spread of illness), if so, will the Minister release that modelling, if not, why not?

Hon Brooke van Velden: No modelling has been completed on the impact of sick leave changes at a population level. At an individual level, the hours-based accrual system will ensure that employees earn hours of sick leave in direct proportion to the hours they have worked for an employer.
