48967 (2025). Scott Willis to the Minister of Transport: How many EVs, if any, average against each public charger across New Zealand as of October 2025?

Hon Chris Bishop: There are approximately 91 EVs to each public charge point as at October 2025. This has been calculated from: • a total of 126,839 registered light EVs as at 30 September 2025, consisting of 86,208 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and 40,631 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) • 1,397 public EV charge points as at 7 October 2025.
