48849 (2024). Rt Hon Chris Hipkins to the Prime Minister: What aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister or their Office received during the week beginning 5 August 2024, listed by agency, title and date received?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: As Prime Minister, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on a range of matters. In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I received the following documents between 5 to 9 August 2024 from my officials in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC):
• Foreign honour for New Zealand citizen, 5 August 2024
• Estimates Examination Post-Hearing Questionnaire, 9 August 2024
In addition, jointly with the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery I have received the following document:
• North Island Weather Events: Progress Update on Categorisation, Buyouts, and Sediment Removal, 7 August 2024.
I also received one document on 5 August 2024 and one document on 7 August 2024. It is not in the public interest to release the titles of these documents.
I have received briefings from the Policy Advisory Group, a business unit of DPMC, during the requested timeframe however I am not releasing the titles of these briefings.
In addition, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from my officials in DPMC and from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices. This information is not held in a format that can be easily extracted within the time frame.
