48814 (2025). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Police: Further to WPQ40440/25 what is the age of the youngest child that has been detained in a police cell; where was that child detained?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025, the youngest person held in Police custody overnight was 11 years old. This was in Hamilton Central, and they were in custody for four hours.
