48715 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 29 September 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and what is the proposed net change in roles?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: I am advised that a consultation opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on 29 September 2025 for the Pacific and Development Group. Consultations are expected to close on 17 October 2025. The proposed change would see a net reduction of 10 positions to the Ministry. Due to the number of vacant positions in the Pacific and Development Group, it is not anticipated that the proposed change would result in a reduction of staff numbers.
