48613 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What steps, if any, is he taking to prevent the importation of caravans from Australia that have been classified as statutory write-offs under the Australian Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR)?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Government is not currently considering changes to policies or settings regarding the importation of caravans. However, longer-term work is underway as part of the Land Transport Rules Reform Programme to overhaul the vehicle regulatory system, including import requirements. This work is expected to inform future changes to regulatory settings which will also apply to caravans.
