48407 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Children: What advice, briefings, reports, memos and aide memoires, if any, has the Minister received from Te Puni Kōkiri and Te Arawhiti regarding the removal of section 7AA since 1 November 2023, by title and date?

Hon Karen Chhour: I have not received briefings, reports, memos and aide memoires from Te Puni Kōkiri and Te Arawhiti on the proposed repeal of Section 7AA Oranga Tamariki Act 1989. I have received feedback from Te Puni Kōkiri through consultation on my draft Cabinet paper to repeal Section 7AA and feedback from Te Arawhiti through consultation on the draft bill to repeal Section 7AA.
