48400 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Children: How many of the 67% of Māori tamariki in the care and protection of Oranga Tamariki, if any, will be impacted by the removal of section 7AA, broken down by region?

Hon Karen Chhour: All children in the care and protection of Oranga Tamariki, including tamariki and rangatahi Māori, will benefit from the removal of section 7AA, because this is about ensuring the safety, wellbeing and best interests of the child are at the forefront of social work practice and decision making.
