48311 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward the action ‘Develop and maintain an up-to-date database of national and regional breastfeeding support services (both public and private). Identify service gaps and report these to the IYCFC.’ under ‘Outcome 1: Learn how breastfeeding parents and their whānau have equitable access to a range of culturally appropriate breast and infant feeding supports’ within the National Breastfeeding Strategy for Aotearoa?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that Women’s Health Action drafted a report on breastfeeding support service gaps. This report will inform the National Breastfeeding Strategy for Aotearoa implementation activities.
I am further advised that a national platform, ‘Find Your Breastfeeding Support’, was developed and is live, with over 80 service providers listed.
