48302 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward the action ‘Identify and action the breastfeeding information and support needs of parents and/or infants with disabilities and their whānau. Report actions and progress to address gaps to the IYCFC.’ under ‘Outcome 1: Learn how breastfeeding parents and their whānau have equitable access to a range of culturally appropriate breast and infant feeding supports’ within the National Breastfeeding Strategy for Aotearoa?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the Aotearoa Breastfeeding Network planned an education session to address the infant feeding information and support needs of parents and/or infants with disabilities and their whānau. This session will be delivered in the next quarter. I am further advised that Health New Zealand Counties Manukau have developed a comprehensive programme of work and resources to support disabled people’s infant feeding journeys
