48301 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 toward the action ‘Increase the competence and confidence of the maternal and child health workforce to understand and respond to parents and caregivers who cannot, or choose not to, exclusively breastfeed.’ under ‘Outcome 1: Learn how breastfeeding parents and their whānau have equitable access to a range of culturally appropriate breast and infant feeding supports’ within the National Breastfeeding Strategy for Aotearoa?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that Health New Zealand continued to run funded education sessions within maternity facilities to health professionals. Private providers and professional colleges also ran education session in the community.
