48229 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What estimate, if any, was he provided of the potential delays and/or costs resulting from the reset of the National Ticketing Solution?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised by the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) it has shifted its timeframe for delivery to the end of 2027 which, as the NZTA has stated, replaces the overly ambitious timeframe of delivery by the end of 2026. Undertaking the reset itself has not contributed to any delays. The NZTA and the National Ticketing Solution programme continues to work on the basis that the original budget envelope will be sufficient. Potential savings and risks are currently being validated.
