48155 (2024). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What advice, if any, did the Minister receive regarding the breach by Sky City of the duties and rules of Host Responsibility?

Hon Brooke van Velden: Shortly after taking office, I was briefed by the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) on the application to suspend SkyCity’s operator’s licence. I was kept informed as the suspension application progressed through the Gambling Commission process. Gambling compliance and enforcement for specific gambling operators is an operational matter for the Department.
