48137 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Children: What impacts, if any, will the restructuring of Oranga Tamariki have on frontline services?

Hon Karen Chhour: The Oranga Tamariki organisational restructure focused on streamlining back office functions. Frontline roles were out of scope so as not to affect the services being provided on the ground by staff directly to children and families. I am advised the restructure, together with work on continuous and enhanced training for frontline staff, will lift capability in this area.
