48105 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for the Environment: Has the Minister written to any regional or unitary councils regarding specific individual consent applications or groups of consent applications, if so, which councils and for what reasons?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Yes. On the 1 September 2025, I wrote to Horizons Regional Council to request further information about the Santoft resource consents to more fully understand the situation. I subsequently provided a letter to the Council on 1 September, following a meeting with council officials, requesting a further meeting. I refer the member to my response to written parliamentary question 48107 (2025), as it relates to more general correspondence to councils.
