48104 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What modelling has he seen, if any, regarding an increased prison population and the impact to Corrections resources?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I refer the member to my response to WPQ 23011 (2024). At this time I have not received briefings or aides memoire about these matters further to those listed in that response, however I also receive regular updates from my officials on a range of matters, including via regular meetings and my weekly report. Separate to the advice I have received from Corrections officials, I am also aware of the Ministry of Justice’s refreshed Justice Sector Projections, published in June 2024.
