48100 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What operational changes, if any, are being considered to increase remand prisoners’ access to services and programmes?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections acknowledges the importance of providing services and programmes to those on remand. Corrections is undertaking the Optimising Our Services programme of work which is looking at changes to Corrections’ services and delivery approach, including options for increasing services to those on remand. This programme is a high priority for Corrections and is still in progress. I expect to receive further updates and advice about this programme of work in due course.
