48094 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What progress, if any, has been made since April 2024 in implementing the goal ‘To have prison staff and volunteers work in partnership with tāngata whaikaha Māori/disabled people to be the navigators around disability knowledge.' as part of the Disability Action Plan?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised this is a short term action in Corrections’ Disability Action Plan.
In addition to my response about this action point provided in WPQ 22923 (2024), and the information provided in my response to WPQ 22914 (2024), which relates to a separate but related action in the Disability Action Plan, I am advised that in July 2024 in tandem with Disability Pride Month, Corrections’ Disability Network ran a series of workshops that were available to all Corrections staff, dedicated to recognising and honouring the achievements, resilience, and diversity of people with disabilities.
