47983 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Energy: What was the average wait time, if any, for customer service lines, if any, in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 October 2025?
Hon Simon Watts: "As Minister of Energy, I have no responsibility for any government departments or Ministries. In respect of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I refer the Member to the Minister for Economic Growth's answer to written parliamentary question 47978 (2025).
With regards to Crown entities under the Energy portfolio, the EA and EECA:
EA: The Electricity Authority (Authority) has one customer service line for calls regarding Consumer Care Obligations.
The Consumer Care Obligations line is managed by a third party. This has only been operational since January 2025. I am advised that between 3 January 2025 and 30 September 2025, 46.5% of calls have been answered within four rings.
EECA: EECA's Warmer Kiwi Homes line had an average pick up time of 5 seconds. Their new Solar on Farms phone line went live in early September, and the average pick up time data has not yet been made available to EECA. Note, Inbound calls for Solar on farms will initially be routed to 3 EECA staff mobile numbers, however the call will be transferred to their call centre (Phone Plus) if it is not picked up by EECA staff after 30 seconds."
