47660 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister responsible for the GCSB: What was the average wait time, if any, for customer service lines, if any, in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 October 2025?
Hon Judith Collins: The GCSB includes the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which can receive cyber incident reports through a variety of means, including an 0800 number. New Zealand’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT NZ), formerly a part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), was integrated into the NCSC to form the New Zealand Government’s lead operational cyber security agency. The 0800 number for such cyber incident reports continues to be managed by MBIE. The average wait times for calls made to either the NCSC or CERT NZ over 2020 – 2025 is attached. Beyond this, I consider it is not in the public interest for me to provide further details.
