47400 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What actions, if any, have been taken to update and increase prisoner beds during the month of September?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that 500 beds and 96 specialised mental health beds which had previously been opened at Waikeria Prison in June 2025 began receiving prisoners from courts on 8 September 2025.
