47396 (2025). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What progress has been made on completing the 64 actions of the Wāhine: E Rere Ana Ki te Pae Hou strategy?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that 36 of the 64 actions of the Wāhine – e rere ana ki te pae hou, Corrections’ Women’s Strategy have been completed. Six are underway and progress will continue under the next iteration of the women’s strategy. I am further advised that Wāhine – e rere ana ki te pae hou is currently in the process of being refreshed. This refresh has involved engaging with 440 internal and external stakeholders, including prison staff and management. I am further advised that the refreshed strategy is expected to be finalised later this year. I am further advised that 15 actions will be transitioned to the next iteration of Wāhine – E rere ana ki te pae hou.
