Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand continued working with Police and the Ministry of Health on a data matching project to build a stronger picture of the range of needs presenting in people calling 111. I am further advised that this work has helped inform the design of a system response and other appropriate interventions. I am also advised that Health NZ’s current focus is on planning and implementing the year one changes as advised in the Cabinet paper ‘People in mental distress presenting via 111: transitioning to a multi-agency response’.
